"High" became a theme for a while linked to the idea of having high expectations. The next few display examples are all based on that theme. The display above had five different themes, hence the five colours and the five different children. To make the children was easy, I drew a basic template child minus hair, photocopied it five times then added different hairstyles and coloured them in different colours, much quicker than drawing five individuals and they still have a kind of uniformity. Another tip, if you can get away with it draw their hands behind their backs, hands are always the most difficult. Alternatively you could always find free clipart children from a royalty free website. This is a display that needs to remain up in one form or another throughout the year. I've saved myself some work and kept the semblance of a theme by laminating my drawings of children to re-use in every display, such as the one below. |
Most of this display has been created in Microsoft Publisher. The hot air balloon has been copied and pasted into Publisher's poster design, which prints onto A4 paper and can then be pieced together like a jigsaw and then glued. The title lettering has been drawn free-hand and cut out. |
This is a great idea for a timesaver. The two black areas have to be replaced every half term with children's photos, rather than replacing the whole display I stick the photos to two A1 sheets and stick them in place, this display can then stay up all year round. |
Another Achievements display, same premise as above but a bit jollier! (please ignore the broom handle!) The strips aren't measured and aren't exact- in fact it may look more attractive with varying widths, I'll let you know! |
