LITTLE IDEAS |
HISTORY Add a timeline either as part of the border or mock up a shelf of books showing their spines as different eras. Use the vertical edges of the borders to show historical features such as Roman or Greek Columns, or a pair of Aztec Warriors flanking either side of the display. ART I often use paint splashes either as decoration or to add comments (as often as I can get away with). NUMERACY AND LITERACY When it comes to these two subjects there really is very little theme to work with. Don't spend hours fretting, they just aren't aesthetically pleasing subjects as displays go. Concentrate on adding colour and making them as interactive as possible adding the interest that way (look at my page on Interactive Displays for some ideas). LITERACY Having said that, Literacy can be great if you are able to display work based on storytelling, where you can create interesting characters or settings. Poetry is also a great source of surreal imagery. Even recognisable Non-Fiction forms such as newspapers can be replicated on a large scale. It's that pesky sentence and word level work that can be difficult to display. |
